The company was founded by Zach Croake, a lifelong Midwesterner with deep experience in both commercial property operations and commercial real estate investment sales.

Zach's introduction to the carpet-cleaning industry began early. While growing up in Kansas City, he worked throughout high school at Commercial Carpet Care, a respected commercial cleaning company founded by Steve Abraham.

During those years, Zach learned the fundamentals of professional carpet care from the ground up — understanding not only how to clean carpet properly, but why consistent maintenance matters to the long-term condition of a building.

From Real Estate to Carpet Care

How experience in commercial real estate revealed a critical need in property maintenance

A Career in Commercial Real Estate

After college, Zach transitioned into commercial real estate, building a career as a multifamily investment sales broker across Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska. In this role, he advised property owners on valuations, renovations, and exit strategies, and worked closely with buyers, lenders, and property managers throughout the Midwest.

The Realization

It was during this time that a recurring problem became clear.

Across dozens of properties, Zach saw otherwise strong assets lose value due to deferred maintenance and poor presentation — especially in common areas and high-traffic spaces. Worn, stained, or poorly maintained carpet consistently hurt first impressions, tenant satisfaction, and ultimately pricing when owners brought properties to market. In many cases, relatively small maintenance issues translated into significant valuation discounts.

Back to the Roots

That realization brought Zach back to his roots. Drawing on his early experience under Steve Abraham and his professional perspective from the brokerage side of the business, Zach founded Croake's Commercial Carpet Care to help owners and property managers protect and enhance their assets through consistent, professional carpet maintenance.
